Tian Gong is a Qi Gong school for energy & spiritual healing. A place where body, mind & soul work together, we offer weekly classes, practice groups, energy transmissions & workshop intensives to accelerate personal growth & development. This unique form of Qi Gong incorporates meditation, physical movement, sound healing, Eastern & Western spiritual wisdom & ancient alchemical practices.
Practicing Tian Gong Qi Gong helps to restore & strengthen emotional, mental & physical health & balance. Even more importantly, Tian Gong distinguishes itself through intermediate & advanced courses which lead students to a deeper understanding of karma, reincarnation & soul health. Teachings are based on Eastern philosophy grounded in 8,000 years of wisdom passed down by sages & ancient cultures around the world, as well as new Universal messages.
With a mission to provide global humanitarian relief aid and a curriculum that emphasizes energy-based environmental sustainability, social philanthropy and disaster relief skills, we hope that anyone interested in changing the world for the better will find a home in your heart here — because finding your inner peace will lead the world to global peace.

I would prefer Yin Style, and a Chinese Practioner -- but I am not completely picky. I already know about Robert Fong, and I know some people that practice Swimming Dragon style, but like I said -- Yin style would be good.
So, anyone have any suggestions for me?

So Ba Gua is extremely intriguing and yet there doesn't seem to be anyone (I've met) who does it exclusively. It almost seems to be supplemental to the 'core style' people do regularly (whatever their core style is). I train with an internal arts master who has a wide background in techniques and we 'play jazz' with an array of movement (Ba Gua included). I use this as a supplement to Capoeira Angola.
My question is a specific practice I've heard about for Ba Gua and it has to do with setting up an actual octagon for foot placement and weight transfer. I had heard you can use bricks in this formation and it's great for building leg strength. I've experimented, and with my lack of knowledge, don't know the distance between steps (though it's probably variable). Does anyone have any insights about this particular approach or anything else for Ba Gua practice?
Judging by a past post from Jorga, I'll have to be patient for a reply. (Everyone's probably developing their core styles!).

So what styles are y'all practicing or have heard about? I'm practicing Gao linear Ba Gua with my friend Dave (the picture on this tribe is actually of his teacher Allen Pittman in Gerorgia). The nice thing about this system is that it can be taught on its own as unit... it's not as important to have a lot of prior martial arts experience with this system as it is with other systems which (according to my sources) are taught more like a graduate course after more extensive training in a less complex system. In our system there are 24 Heavenly stems (basic striking forms that work as standing practice; the roots of the tree), 64 "Post-Birth" Linear Tactics (links of striking forms that give you a sense of more or less linear motion; the trunk of the tree), and 8 "Pre-Birth" Circles (links of forms that give you a sense of circular mortion).

Dave's actually looking to start a regular class in Santa Cruz soon if anyone is interested.
